Sign now to demand a Global Ocean Treaty!

Call on Australia's Minister for the Environment, Sussan Ley to join world governments in committing to a Global Ocean Treaty at the next UN ICG4 to be held early next year.

Dear Minister Ley,

Our oceans are under threat from overfishing, deep sea mining, climate change, plastic pollution and more. It is vital that we protect our oceans that are essential for biodiversity and our fight against the climate crisis.

You have recognised this by joining Australia to the Global Ocean Alliance calling for 30% of the ocean to be protected by 2030 - but now we need you to follow up with real action.

Australia will meet other members of the United Nations at IGC4 planned for early next year, 2022 - the UN's Intergovernmental Conference on Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction.

To help protect 30% of our world's oceans by 2030, we call on you to create protected ocean sanctuaries in international waters through a Global Ocean Treaty.
